One of the NBA’s most recognizable players, James Harden, has found himself in legal trouble after being arrested in Texas for allegedly unlawfully carrying a firearm.

According to available information, police discovered a handgun inside Harden’s vehicle during a routine stop. Reports indicate that the weapon was in plain sight and was not stored in a holster as required by local law, leading to misdemeanor charges being filed against the veteran guard.

Following his arrest, the former NBA MVP was released on bail but is scheduled to appear in court on June 22. As part of the conditions of his release, Harden has been prohibited from possessing any firearms, ammunition, or other weapons.

In addition, he is barred from using or possessing alcohol, controlled substances, dangerous drugs, or marijuana unless prescribed by a physician. He will also be subject to random testing, including urinalysis.

During the recently concluded season, Harden played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were eliminated by the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. The experienced guard began his NBA career in 2009 when he was selected third overall in the NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Throughout his career, Harden has also played for the Houston Rockets, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Los Angeles Clippers, establishing himself as one of the most prolific offensive players of his generation.

Despite numerous individual accolades, Harden has yet to win an NBA championship. He was named the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2018 and has earned 11 NBA All-Star selections during his distinguished career.
