Russian forces struck the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia with five guided aerial bombs on Thursday evening, injuring at least 25 people, including six children, according to regional authorities.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast Governor Ivan Fedorov confirmed that a three-month-old infant was among those wounded during the bombardment, local Ukrainian media reported. .
The aerial attack caused extensive damage to local civilian infrastructure, destroying or heavily damaging residential buildings, a private medical facility, a kindergarten, and several vehicles.
Located roughly 40 to 50 kilometers from the front line, the city continues to face frequent strikes from Russian drones, artillery, and heavy guided bombs as emergency crews work to clear debris and treat victims.
