Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have not publicly confirmed a wedding date, but a New York City permit filing has sent the internet back into full detective mode.
People with direct knowledge of the planning said a permit was filed to close streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 through midday July 4, with the request tied to a July 3 event. The timing has fueled fresh speculation around reports suggesting Swift and Kelce are planning a large wedding event at the arena.
The filing reportedly asks for space around MSG for tents, canopies and trucks. People familiar with the situation said city officials are moving ahead on the assumption that a Swift-related event is headed to the venue.
The rumor mill did not stop there. Several members of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce’s NFL team, have reportedly booked rooms at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square for the same period.
That detail has only added to the frenzy around a possible holiday weekend celebration in Midtown Manhattan, where nearby businesses have already been bracing for road closures, security plans and crowds if the event goes ahead.
For now, the public-facing facts are still limited: there is a permit request, there is a July 3 event window, and there has been no confirmation from Swift or Kelce.
