The new animated film Toy Story 5 premiered in Hollywood, attracting numerous celebrities from the film and music industries. The event, held at the Dolby Theatre, was highlighted by a special live performance from pop superstar Taylor Swift.
Following the screening, Swift performed the original song I Knew It, I Knew You, which she co-wrote with Jack Antonoff specifically for the latest installment of the beloved franchise. The audience received another surprise when she joined composer Randy Newman for a performance of the iconic You’ve Got a Friend in Me, the signature song of the Toy Story series.
Speaking at the event, Taylor Swift said it was a great honor to be part of the Toy Story universe and revealed that the fifth installment is her favorite in the franchise. She also thanked the filmmakers and director Andrew Stanton for giving her the opportunity to contribute to the project.
According to the first reactions from the premiere, Toy Story 5 has received positive reviews and is already being mentioned as a potential awards-season contender, particularly in the categories of Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
The Toy Story franchise has long been one of the most successful animated film series in history, earning numerous accolades, including several Academy Awards. The new film is scheduled for nationwide theatrical release on June 19.
