Oasis have overtaken The Beatles in the UK’s all-time albums chart, with their 1995 record (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? rising above Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
The Official Charts Company said Oasis’s second album is now the third most popular album in UK chart history, with 6.2 million chart units from sales and streams combined.
The album, which includes Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Some Might Say and Champagne Supernova, has seen renewed interest following Oasis’s 2025 reunion tour.
The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, released in 1967, has dropped to fifth place on the all-time list. A decade ago, it was third.
Queen’s 1981 Greatest Hits remains the UK’s biggest-selling album overall, while ABBA Gold is in second place. Adele’s 21 has moved up to fourth.
The updated list was published to mark the 70th anniversary of the weekly UK albums chart.
