Tom Hardy’s reported clash behind the scenes of MobLand may not be the end of his run as Harry Da Souza after all.
The actor appears to be back in the fold with the Paramount+ crime drama after reports of tension with producers during filming on the show’s second season. Reports said Hardy had clashed with executive producer Jez Butterworth and creator Ronan Barrett, including over script notes and delays on set.
One source quoted in the source material said, “He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play,” referring to co-stars including Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.
But not everyone left the situation stuck in that version of events. Hardy, Butterworth and 101 Studios executive David Glasser reportedly met in London to find a way forward, with executive producer Guy Ritchie also involved in easing the situation.
Season two of MobLand is still slated to premiere later this year. Paramount+ has not formally ordered a third season, but production had reportedly been targeting a fall filming start if the show moves ahead.
That matters because Hardy is central to the series. He plays Harry Da Souza, a fixer working for a London crime family led by Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, played by Brosnan and Mirren.
The cast also includes Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Jasmine Jobson, Mandeep Dhillon, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Janet McTeer, Jordi Mollà and Toby Jones.
Paramount+ declined comment.
