Citizens of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya and South Africa can now obtain either a 14-day or 60-day visa on arrival at UAE entry points, along with their accompanying family members. Previously, only Indian nationals had access to this scheme.
There is a key condition: applicants must hold a valid residence permit issued by one of nine approved countries, namely the United States, a European Union member state, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand or Canada.
The 14-day visa is priced at 100 UAE dirhams and can be extended once during the stay. The 60-day option costs 250 dirhams but is issued as a single-entry, non-extendable visa. Overstaying either visa carries a fine of 50 dirhams per day.
The authority said the changes align the UAE’s entry framework with global best practices and strengthen bilateral ties with the newly added countries, while reinforcing the country’s position as a leading destination for tourism and international travel.
