Aubrey Plaza just made a pregnancy update feel less like a glossy announcement and more like a scene from an offbeat comedy.
The Parks and Recreation and White Lotus actress, 42, shared a set of Instagram Story photos over the weekend as she and boyfriend Christopher Abbott prepared for the arrival of their first child together.
One image showed Plaza taking a mirror selfie with her black tank top lifted to reveal her baby bump. Instead of the usual soft-focus celebrity pose, she stared at her reflection with a comically alarmed expression, turning the moment into exactly the kind of deadpan visual fans expect from her.

The update also moved from bump reveal to baby logistics. Other photos showed Abbott, 40, getting a stroller lesson from Bambi Baby CEO Enelio Ortega, with Abbott recording the instructions as Ortega demonstrated how the stroller could be converted into a portable carrier.
Plaza appeared alongside Ortega and the stroller in another snap, captioning one image: “Muchos gracias Enelio for teaching us something.”
The couple’s baby news became public in April, after Plaza later confirmed the pregnancy during an appearance on the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett.
“I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know?” Plaza said of becoming a parent. “It just seems so interesting, that whole thing.”
Plaza first showed her baby bump publicly at the Tony Awards in New York on June 7, where she attended with Abbott. He was nominated for his role as Biff Loman in the Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman.
The pair previously worked together on the 2020 drama Black Bear and later reunited onstage in Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.
