Meta is taking its teen safety pitch offline in Singapore, turning a policy debate about social media habits into a free public experience with conversation cards, guided prompts and school-tested workshops.

Digital Dialogue IRL is open at Temasek Shophouse from June 25 to July 31, 2026. The program is aimed at teens, parents, educators and community groups, with scenarios covering screen time, peer pressure, cyberbullying, social comparison, feed control and online-offline boundaries.

Meta said the experience is designed to explain safety features already built into Teen Accounts across Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. Those accounts use default protections inspired by 13+ movie ratings and parent feedback and teens cannot opt out without parental permission.

The launch comes after pilot workshops with 304 students at two Singapore secondary schools. Meta said students who took part became 19 percentage points more likely to say they understood safety tools on their Instagram Teen Account, with familiarity rising from 52% to 71%.

Rahayu Mahzam, Singapore’s Minister of State for Digital Development and Information and Health, said keeping young people safe online “is not something any one party can do alone.” She added: “It requires government, industry, schools, and families working together.”

Clara Koh, Meta’s director of public policy for Central Southeast Asia and ASEAN, said the project was built to create “an engaging space where teens, parents, and educators can talk openly about real digital experiences.”

The company said 69% of students agreed the sessions helped them have honest conversations about social media. Among educators surveyed after the workshops, 61% said they intended to use the Digital Dialogue resource in future teaching.

Entry to Digital Dialogue IRL is free through July 31.
