Russia said Ukraine launched more than 400 drones at Moscow and the surrounding region overnight, wounding two people and damaging civilian infrastructure.
Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said air defence forces and electronic warfare systems repelled the attack, with the main damage reported in Podolsk, Domodedovo and the Odintsovo district.
Vorobyov said two people were wounded and several civilian infrastructure facilities were set on fire or damaged. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the drones were launched toward the region between 8:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., with most intercepted at long range. He said 85 drones were destroyed while approaching the Russian capital.
Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defence systems shot down 381 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov overnight.
Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, said it temporarily evacuated its logistics centre in the Podolsk district as a precaution before resuming normal operations.
The latest attack followed another wave of Ukrainian drone strikes on Saturday, which Russian officials said killed seven Wildberries warehouse workers and injured dozens more. A separate strike also sparked a fire at an oil depot in the wider Moscow region.
Ukraine has intensified long-range drone attacks inside Russia, targeting logistics, energy and military-linked infrastructure as Moscow continues large-scale strikes on Ukrainian cities.
