Newly appointed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham will host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday for his first international leader visit since taking office, signaling London’s continued “unwavering support” for Kyiv.
The two leaders are expected to meet at a UK naval base to observe over 200 Ukrainian military personnel participating in Exercise Sea Breeze, a counter-mine and maritime security training program aimed at preparing forces for operations in the Black Sea.
Prior to the visit, Burnham announced that Britain will share the intellectual property behind “Stone Cloak”, a battle-tested electronic warfare jamming device designed to protect drones from Russian air defense tracking, allowing Ukraine to produce the technology at scale.
Downing Street emphasized that total British aid to Ukraine has reached £25 billion ($33 billion) since Russia’s full-scale invasion, reassuring Kyiv that the recent change in UK leadership will bring no alteration to London’s long-term military and diplomatic commitments.
