Shares of ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) soared over 500% on Monday during its trading debut on Shanghai’s STAR Market, transforming the semiconductor firm into China’s most valuable listed company and marking Asia’s largest initial public offering of 2026.
As China’s leading producer of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) chips, CXMT has become a primary beneficiary of the global artificial intelligence boom and Beijing’s push for technological self-sufficiency amid ongoing U.S. export restrictions. The company plans to use the proceeds to expand wafer manufacturing capacity, fund advanced memory R&D, and strengthen domestic supply chains.
