Apple announced a massive multiyear supply agreement with semiconductor giant Broadcom valued at more than $30 billion. The blockbuster deal, which runs through 2031, is designed to manufacture over 15 billion chips entirely within America, significantly accelerating Apple’s efforts toward US domestic chip sourcing. The strategic move represents Apple’s largest commitment under its American Manufacturing Program, an initiative launched to ramp up the country’s end-to-end silicon supply chain and satisfy President Donald Trump’s aggressive push for domestic manufacturing.

Under the terms of the agreement, Broadcom will invest $1.5 billion to expand and modernize its main manufacturing facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. The plant will specialize in producing advanced radio-frequency components, custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), and FBAR filters essential for wireless connectivity across Apple’s multi-generational product lines.

Apple CEO Tim Cook publicly thanked the Trump administration for supporting the initiative, which helps the iPhone maker fulfill its broader $600 billion domestic investment pledge while cleanly bypassing hefty tariffs on foreign-sourced technology. The major partnership guarantees Broadcom a vital role in Apple’s future hardware ecosystem while drastically reducing reliance on overseas semiconductor suppliers.
