Maritime shipping between Iran’s Dayyer port and Qatar’s Al Ruwais port officially resumed on Sunday after a five-month suspension caused by regional conflict. The restoration of the Iran-Qatar maritime trade route follows extensive diplomatic coordination between the Iranian embassy in Doha and Qatari authorities to restore local commerce.

This resumption of transit follows a temporary interim agreement signed last month between Tehran and Washington, which declared an end to hostilities after four months of active warfare. The bilateral pact mandates a complete return of Persian Gulf maritime traffic to pre-war levels, though transit regulations in and out of the waterway remain highly contentious. The regional trade network is showing signs of recovery, as Dayyer port sustained multiple direct strikes during the conflict but is now operational.

Furthermore, Iranian state media reported that commercial goods have recently cleared customs at the United Arab Emirates’ Jebel Ali Port, the largest shipping hub in the area. While the full normalization of the Iran-Qatar maritime trade network remains fragile due to unresolved security parameters, these developments indicate a gradual stabilization of bilateral economic relations across both sides of the Gulf.
