Lebanon’s political establishment is facing growing internal divisions over Hezbollah’s role in the country’s security and foreign policy.

Following months of conflict and economic strain, criticism of Hezbollah has become increasingly visible within parts of Lebanese society. Government officials have openly questioned whether armed groups should continue operating independently from state institutions.

The debate represents one of the most sensitive political issues in Lebanon. Supporters view Hezbollah as a necessary deterrent against Israel, while critics argue that its military actions risk dragging Lebanon into conflicts it cannot afford.

The discussion is becoming increasingly important as Lebanon attempts to stabilize after years of economic collapse, political paralysis and regional instability.
