Zendaya says she is ready to step back from the spotlight after a year packed with major projects and back-to-back press tours.
The actress has been promoting a string of 2026 releases, including The Drama, Euphoria season three, The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Dune: Part Three. The schedule has kept her on the move throughout the year, with each project bringing another round of interviews, red carpets and fashion appearances.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the New York premiere of The Odyssey, Zendaya was asked what she plans to do once the press cycle finally ends. Her answer was simple: “Oh girl, nothing.”
She said she wants to mind her own business, stay to herself and “disappear for a little bit” after what she described as a whirlwind year of constant travel and promotion.
Zendaya said she remains grateful for the work and would not change anything, but added that moving from place to place so quickly can leave her mind “all over the place.”
Her final major press tour of the year is expected to be for Dune: Part Three, which is set for release in December. After that, she also has Shrek 5 due in 2027.
In an ELLE cover story, Zendaya said she is proud of everything she has worked on this year and still loves her job. But she also admitted that a break now feels necessary, even if time off can quickly make her want to work again.
