Abby Elliott is moving to end her marriage to producer Bill Kennedy, filing for divorce after nearly a decade together.
Court documents reviewed by entertainment media say the actress filed Friday, July 17, and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The filing lists July 8 as the couple’s date of separation.
Elliott, known to many viewers for her work on The Bear, married Kennedy on September 3, 2016. The couple have two children together: Edith, 5, and William, 3.
In the filing, Elliott asks for joint legal and physical custody of both children. She is also seeking spousal support, while asking the court to block Kennedy from receiving support from her.
The documents also say Elliott wants Kennedy to cover her attorney’s fees, adding another financial layer to a case that is now entering the Los Angeles celebrity divorce circuit.
Neither Elliott nor Kennedy has publicly commented on the filing. The divorce comes as Elliott’s professional profile remains closely tied to prestige TV, while Kennedy has largely stayed outside the public spotlight.
For now, the public record is brief but clear: the marriage began in September 2016, the separation date is listed as July 8, 2026, and Elliott is asking the court for shared custody of the two children.
