The Cockroach Janta Party, a youth-led movement founded in May 2026 by digital strategist Abhijeet Dipke, has been holding protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi since June 6, calling for reform of India’s public examination system following irregularities in the national medical entrance test NEET. The movement gained its name as a satirical response to a government official’s remarks and amassed 22 million Instagram followers within days of its founding.

Cusack, 60, known for films including High Fidelity, Con Air and Serendipity, has previously commented on India-related issues on social media. His post drew significant attention in India, where the protests have dominated national news coverage for three weeks.
