An Israeli drone strike killed two people in southern Lebanon on Wednesday evening, marking a fresh violation of the newly minted ceasefire agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv. According to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA), the fatal israeli drone strike southern lebanon targeted the vicinity of the Ghandour Hospital in the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, killing two young men who were walking near the medical facility. Alongside the deadly aerial attack, Israeli military forces reportedly carried out large-scale demolitions and detonated explosives in the border town of Taybeh.

The escalation occurred despite a U.S.-sponsored framework agreement signed just weeks prior on June 26, which was intended to establish a phased Israeli military withdrawal from Lebanese territories. Low-altitude Israeli drone surveillance continues over Beirut’s southern suburbs and border villages, maintaining intense friction on the ground.

Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry reported that ongoing military operations since March have claimed over 4,300 lives and displaced thousands. This latest incident highlights the profound fragility of the diplomatic truce as regional tensions continue to flare across the Middle East.
