While many parts of the financial system face uncertainty, major investment banks are experiencing a resurgence in dealmaking activity.
Both Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have reported strong earnings supported by increased merger-and-acquisition activity, capital markets transactions and corporate financing deals. Advisory revenues have surged as companies pursue acquisitions and strategic restructuring.
The rebound in dealmaking is being viewed as an important sign that corporate confidence remains relatively resilient despite broader economic concerns.
