Nickelback are back in album mode, and they are not easing in quietly.
The Canadian rock band has announced its 11th studio album, Everything Under The Sun, alongside the new single Rattle The Cage. The record is scheduled for release on October 30 through Virgin Music Group, marking the band’s first album since 2022’s Get Rollin’.
Frontman Chad Kroeger said the record is built to show more than one side of the band. “This album has every side of the band on it,” he said. “There are songs that hit as hard as anything we’ve ever done, songs that take chances, and songs that remind us why we’ve been doing this together for so long.”
The first taste is not exactly subtle. Rattle The Cage features US guitarist John 5 and leans into heavy riffs, with Kroeger delivering the line: “Screaming ’till we know that they can hear us down in hell.”
Kroeger said the song was chosen to kick off the campaign because it matched the band’s live energy. “‘Rattle The Cage’ felt like the perfect way to kick the door open,” he said. “It has the energy we’ve been feeding off every night on stage, and we can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The album’s full tracklist has not yet been revealed.
The release also starts a new label chapter for the band. Jacqueline Saturn, Virgin Music Group’s president for North America, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with them as they begin this exciting new chapter and can’t wait for fans to experience Everything Under The Sun.”
The announcement follows the documentary Hate To Love: Nickelback, the band’s Get Rollin’ world tour and their recent Don Broco collaboration Nightmare Tripping.
