Ukrainian drones struck three Russian oil refineries, tankers in the Sea of Azov and pipeline pumping stations overnight, officials from both countries said Wednesday, in one of Kyiv’s broadest attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.

The strikes stretched from regions near Ukraine’s border to deep inside Russia, including Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, as Kyiv continues to target the oil facilities it says help sustain Moscow’s war effort.

Ukraine’s general staff and special forces said drones hit the TANECO and TAIF-NK oil refineries in Nizhnekamsk, in Russia’s Tatarstan region, as well as the Saratov oil refinery. They also said Ukrainian forces struck the Borisoglebsk military airbase in the Voronezh region.

Russian officials confirmed attacks in those regions but did not specify all the targets. Russia’s Defence Ministry said its air defences had downed 415 Ukrainian drones overnight.

Ukraine also said it had struck a petroleum products pumping station in Bashkortostan, about 1,450 km from Ukrainian-held territory. Russian officials did not immediately report an attack there, while unverified footage circulating on social media appeared to show a strike.

The attacks came two days after Kyiv hit the Omsk refinery, Russia’s largest, around 2,700 km from Ukrainian-held territory. That strike marked one of Ukraine’s deepest attacks inside Russia and added pressure to fuel supplies in some Russian regions.
