India’s Personality-Driven Leadership “Beats” the Traditional Party Model

India’s political landscape is becoming increasingly centered around individual political leaders rather than traditional party structures, according to a growing number of analysts and observers.

The trend has intensified as political campaigns increasingly focus on leadership image, personal popularity and direct voter connection through social media and digital platforms. Critics argue that this shift risks reducing political debate to emotional loyalty rather than policy discussion.

Supporters, however, argue that strong leadership has helped create political stability and clearer national direction in a country of more than 1.4 billion people.

As India continues its rise as a major global power, its internal political evolution is attracting increasing international attention.
